If there is no tomorrow, there is today, or at least Sunday the 21st of October and Monday the 22nd, to catch Tony Martin, live at Feinstein's at Loews Regency. That's right, the legendary crooner is still performing at the young age of 95. Which seems to answer the question, is Tony Martin still alive? The former Alvin Morris- Tony came from the name of a gambler in a magazine story, and Martin from the name of the bandleader Freddie Martin- will regale audiences with stories of his Hollywood days. Names sure to be dropped include Lana Turner, Judy Garland Fred Astaire, Rita Hayworth, Ginger Rogers, and of course, his stunning wife of 59 years, Cyd Charisse. Songs he'll perform include Begin the Beguine, You Stepped Out of a Dream, A Foggy Day, and Let's Face the Music and Dance. Over the course of his career, Martin appeared in such movies as Ali Baba Goes to Town( his first picture), 'Til the Clouds Roll By, Easy to Love, Show Boat, Hit the Deck and Here Come the Girls. On television, he starred on his own variety series, The Tony Martin Show in the 1950's Martin, who continues to perform on tour, will appear at 8:30 PM, each night. Feinstein's at Loews Regency is located at 540 Park Avenue at 61st in New York City. The show has a $40 cover charge and a two-drink minimum.
