Patti Cohenour to play Seattle next month in Souvenir...

The gloriously-voiced Broadway vet, Patti Cohenour, will play the gloriously-inept opera diva Florence Foster Jenkins, in a production of Stephen Temperley's Souvenir, at ACT in Seattle, from May 11 to June 10, with a May 17, official opening. The show will be directed by R. Hamilton Wright. The role of her accompanist Cosme McMoon, will be played by Mark Anders.

Ms Cohenour has thrilled New York audiences in such productions as Big River, The Mystery of Edwin Drood and The Phantom of the Opera. Recently, she appeared in the Lincoln Center Theater version of The Light in the Piazza, as Signora Naccarelli and Margaret Johnson.

Souvenir was developed at the Berkshire Theatre Festival. It had two venues in New York, first at the York Theatre Company and, thence, on to Broadway at the Lyceum. Judy Kaye played Jenkins in that production.
