Following numerous sold-out nights at Joe's Pub, the new revue, Don't Quit Your Night Job, has found a permanent home at the midtown comedy club, Ha!. The show, which mixes cabaret performances, stand-up comedy and improv, features a rotating cast of Broadway performers as well as "surprise celebrity guests nightly."
Though the standing cast has yet to be announced, among the guests already slated to appear once the show begins performances April 26 are Hank Azaria, Kristin Chenoweth, Brian d'Arcy James, Hunter Foster, Sutton Foster, Marvin Hamlisch, Jane Krakowski, Marc Kudisch, Andrea McArdle, Bebe Neuwirth , Lonny Price, Anthony Rapp, Tony Roberts, Marian Seldes, Mary Testa and B.D. Wong.. Conceived by Dan Lipton, Steve Rosen, David Rossmer and Spelling Bee's Sarah Saltzberg, Night Job officially opens May 17.
Perhaps the most surprising name involved is not a writer or performer but the show's producer: Jed Bernstein. For ten years, Bernstein served as President of the League of American Theaters and Producers, the organization that oversees the running, marketing and commerce of Broadway. Though most strongly identified with bolstering the Broadway brand and making touring a crucial part of the overall box office, Bernstein also initiated more creative endeavors, such as Kids' Night on Broadway and the Broadway on Broadway TV specials.
