After nearly two years, Guys and Dolls will finish at the Piccadilly on April 14.

Say goodbye to Nathan, Miss Adelaide, Sarah, Sky, Nicely-Nicely and the rest, when Frank Loesser's Guys and Dolls takes its final bow in the West End on April 14. The show will have played almost two years at the Piccadilly, opening on June 1, of 2005. The original stars included Jane Krakowski, Ewan McGregor, Douglas Hodge and Jenna Russell, under the direction of Michael Grandage.

The current cast is led by Don (Miami Vice) Johnson, Claire Sweeney, Ben Richards and Lisa Stokke. Mr. Johnson is scheduled to end his run as Nathan Detroit on the 31st of this month.

There are plans for a New York version of this production sometime in 2008.

Speaking of the Great White Way, the original production of Guys and Dolls opened at the 46th Street Theatre(now the Richard Rodgers) on November 24, 1950. It starred Robert Alda ( Sky Masterson), Sam Levene ( Nathan Detroit), Vivian Blaine (Miss Adelaide), Isabel Bigley ( Sarah Brown) and Stubby Kaye ( Nicely-Nicely). The show closed some three years later( November 28, 1953), after 1200 performances on the button.

A movie version came out in 1955, with Frank Sinatra as Nathan, Jean Simmons as Sarah and Marlon Brando, yes! Marlon Brando as Sky. Vivian Blaine and Stubby Kaye, recreated their roles for Tinsel-town.
