A Little Night Music,  starring Zeta-Jones, Lansbury and Hanson, heads to Broadway later this year.

Catherine Zeta-Jones ( Desiree Armfeldt) and Angela Lansbury (Madame Armfeldt)  will star in Trevor Nunn's Broadway revival of Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler's A Little Night Music. The musical will decamp at the Walter Kerr Theatre, with previews beginning November 24. An official opening is set for December 13.

The cast will also include Olivier Award-nominee Alexander Hanson ( Frederik Egerman),  Aaron Lazar ( Count Carl-Magnus Malcolm), Erin Davie ( Countess Charlotte Malcolm), Leigh Ann Larkin (Petra), Hunter Ryan Herdicka (Henrik Egerman) and Ramona Mallory (Anne Egerman). Mr Hanson played the role of Egerman in the recent London version of the musical directed by Nunn.

The musical, based on Ingmar Bergman's film Smiles of a Summer Night, first appeared on Broadway in 1973 at the Shubert Theatre. It starred Glynis Johns, Hermione Gingold and Len Cariou. A number from the show, "Send in the Clowns," became one of Sondheim's most popular songs. A recording by singer Judy Collins became a smash hit.
