CLIVE BARNES DEAD AT 81

WORDS UNSPOKEN By ROGER B. HARRIS Published November 20 2008   Clive Barnes The final review is filed. Clive Barnes died of complications of cancer on Wednesday morning November 19, at Mt. Sinai Hospital. He was 81. Mr. Barnes was dance critic for The New York Times from 1965 through 1977. From 1967 through 1977, he was also the paper's daily theater critic. For the last 30 years, he was the chief drama and dance critic at The New York Post. He also wrote a monthly column for Dance Magazine. It was appropriately called " Attitudes." The marques of Broadway theatres will go dark in his memory on Thursday November 20, at 8:00pm for one minute.
