Lincoln Center Theater's upcoming production of the Bard's Cymbeline will have Jonathan Cake, Michael Cerveris, John Cullum, Martha Plimpton and Phylicia Rashad in leading roles. In all, there will be 26 cast members, the additional casting to be announced at a later date. The show starts previews on November 1, with the opening set for December 2. Mark Lamos will direct at the Vivian Beaumont. The show will be designed by Michael Yeargan ( sets), Jess Goldstein (costumes),and Brian MacDevitt (lighting). Mel Marvin will provide the original music and Tony Smolenski IV and Walter Trarbach will provide sound design. Written in 1609, Cymbeline dates from Shakespeare's later period. It's full of drama, comedy, tragedy and magic, yet somehow, there is happiness at the end for most of the characters. Cullum will play Cymbeline, the vaciliating King of Britain Rashad will play his evil Queen Cake will play her son Cerveris will play the put-upon husband of Imogen, Cymbeline's daughter played by Plimpton.
