GLORY DAYS
at Circle in the Square (Broadway)

THE MORE THINGS CHANGE...
By Roger B. Harris
Published March 27 2008

Andrew C. Call and Jesse JP Johnson/PH: Scott Suchman

Just like that (sound of two fingers snapping), Broadway has a new entry in the Tony sweepstakes. The musical Glory Days will be parking at the Circle in the Square (50th St.) as of April 22. The opening will be May 6.

The musical is by composer/lyricist Nick Blaemire, with book by James Gardiner. It had its premiere earlier this year at the Signature Theatre in Arlington, Virginia. Eric Shaeffer, who directed it at that venue, will direct it on Broadway. The story line: Four high school friends, come together about a year after graduation...and realize how much they've all changed.

The cast includes Steven Booth as Will, Andrew C. Call as Andy, Adam Halpin as Skip, and Jesse JP. Johnson as Jack. All veterans of the Signature Theatre production.

Scenic design will be handled by James Kronzer, costume design by Sasha Ludwig-Siegel, lighting design by Mark Lanks and sound design by Peter Hylenski. Blaemire and Jesse Vargas will handle vocal arrangements and Vargas will take care of arrangements and orchestrations.
