She's fresh from her triumph as Mama Rose in the City Center Encores! production of Gypsy he's fresh from walking away from the CBS television hit Criminal Minds, citing &quotcreative differences." That could only mean that Patti LuPone and Mandy Patinkin are going on the road together. Yep, the two, who played together in the 1980 production of Evita, and won Tony Awards for their efforts, will appear in a two-hander, simply titled An Evening with Patti LuPone and Mandy Patinkin. The show will play Philadelphia's Prince Music Theater, October 23-29. Early in 2008, they'll be at the McCallum Theatre in Palm Desert, California January 18-19. One can assume other dates will be added to the tour. LuPone has appeared on Broadway in Sweeney Todd, The Old Neighborhood, Anything Goes, Noises Off and The Robber Bridegroom. In London, she created the role of Fantine in Les Miserables. As for Patinkin, his Broadway appearances include Sunday in the Park with George, Falsettos, The Wild Party and The Secret Garden. He'll always be remembered for his role in the film The Princess Bride. And on TV, he was in Chicago Hope.
