THE DARK AT THE TOP OF THE STAIRS
at the Connelly Theater, New York

PAWK & CHAMPLIN: TOGETHER AGAIN
By David Lefkowitz

  Donna Lynne Champlin

Nearly five years after playing mother and daughter in Carol Burnett's Hollywood Arms, Michele Pawk and Donna Lynn Champlin will reunite for a revival of The Dark at the Top of the Stairs, running at off-Broadway's Connelly Theater, March 30-April 21.

Patrick Boll, who was the standby for Ralph Fiennes in last season's Faith Healer, will star in William Inge's 50-year-old drama, in which he'll play Rubin, an out-of-work salesman coping with a failing marriage and dysfunctional family. Pawk, a Broadway veteran of Mamma Mia! and the recent Cabaret revival, and a Tony winner for Hollywood Arms, co-stars.

Champlin's other Broadway credits include By Jeeves and James Joyce's The Dead. Inge's other well-known plays include Picnic, Bus Stop and Come Back Little Sheba, which also manifest his themes of ordinary people feeling stunted by their lives, wary of their neighbors and uneasy about their sexuality and place in the world.
