LOVEMUSIK

LONG PLAYING

LoveMusik, the musical about Kurt Weil and his wife Lotte Lenya, which had a limited run at the Biltmore a few months back, has just been recorded by Ghostlight Records, according to a report in Theatermania.com.

The Hal Prince directed show featured the music of Weil and had a book by Alfred Uhry. At the end of its limited engagement, the show had given 60 regular performances and 24 previews. The show received four Tony Award nominations.

LoveMuzik starred Michael Ceveris (Weil) and Donna Murphy(Lenya). Ms. Murphy won Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her performance. She was nominated for a Tony Award as Best Actress in a Musical. Other cast members included David Pittu (Brecht), and John Scherer (Davis), The ensemble included Judith Blazer, Ann Morrison, Erik Liberman, and Rachel Ulanet, among others.
