JOE TURNER'S COME AND GONE
at the Belasco

Lincoln Center Theater's revival of August Wilson's Joe Turner's Come and Gone is heading to the Belasco, to begin previews on March 19, with an opening set for April 16. Tony-Award winner Bartlett Sher will be at the helm.

The play,which takes place in a boardinghouse, is one of 10 in Wilson's Pittsburgh cycle. It debuted on Broadway on March 27, 1988 at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre. (It closed on June 26, 1988, after 105 performances and 11 previews). The cast included Delroy Lindo, Mel Winkler, Bo Rucker, Ed Hall and Angela Bassett, among others. L. Scott Caldwell received a Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Play. The show was voted Best Play of the season by The New York Drama Critics Circle.

Sher recently directed the revival of South Pacific, for which he won a 2008 Tony Award.
