PLAGUE OVER ENGLAND
at the Duchess

WITH TOO MUCH CONVICTION

Theatre critic Nicholas de Jongh's Plague Over England headed to the West End's Duchess Theatre has announced its full cast and creative team. The play which begins a limited run on Feb 11, runs through May 16. It will be directed by Tamara Harvey, with lighting by James Farncombe and design by Alex Marker. It's produced by Bill Kenwright and Ambassador Theatre Group. The play had a completely sold out four week run at Finborough Theatre in Feb./Mar of 2008.

The play is about the highly controversial 1953 conviction of the actor John Gielgud for "persistently importuning men for immoral purposes."

The cast is headed by Michael Feast as Gielgud, as well as Celia Imrie as Dame Sybil Thorndike, , Simon Dutton, David Burt, Hugh Ross, John Warnaby, Michael Brown, Steven Hansell, Sam Heughan and Leon Ockenden.
