at the Old Vic

Pedro Almodovar's Oscar-winning 1999 film, All About My Mother, will have its world stage premiere at the Old Vic, starting August 25-November 24, with an official opening on September 4. Stage, film and television icon Diana Rigg will star as Huma Rojo, in the Samuel Adamson adaptation. The production will be directed by Tom Cairns.

Rigg has won a Tony Award for Medea; across the pond, she picked up an Evening Standard Award for the same show. London shows include Jumpers, Macbeth,Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, Mother Courage, Suddenly Last Summer and Follies. Television enthusiasts will never forget her turn as Emma Peel in The Avengers.

The current production will also star Lesley Manville, Charlotte Randle, Joanne Froggatt, and Colin Morgan. Production design is by Hildegard Bechtler, lighting is by Bruno Poet and sound is by Christopher Shutt.
