Ralph Fiennes, Ken Stott and Carey Mulligan will headline a new London revival next season of Anton Chekhov's Uncle Vanya, directed by Matthew Warchus, to open in the West End at the end of this year, or very early next. Alan Ayckbourn is doing the adaptation of the Chekhov tragicomedy, which seems entirely fitting given the degree to which Warchus's much-lauded revival of Ayckbourn's own The Norman Conquests has been heralded as Chekhovian. The production will mark the fast-rising Mulligan's second consecutive Chekhov, following her recent Nina in London and Broadway in The Seagull, opposite Kristin Scott Thomas.
