Published February 19 2008

That face, Lindsay Duncan, will be heading back to the West End in That Face. She'll be appearing in Polly Stenham's award-winning debut play, which will start performances on May 1 at the Duke of York's, with a May 8 opening. It's set for a 10-week run. It will also star Matt Smith, Catherine Steadman and Julian Wadham. Jeremy Herrin will direct, with designs by Mike Britton.

The play had previously been seen last spring at the Royal Court's Jerwood Theatre Upstairs. Stenham won the Most Promising Playwright honors at this year's Evening Standard and Critics' Circle Awards. The cast has been nominated for Outstanding Achievement in an Affiliate Theatre for the Royal Court gig.

Duncan has had a wonderful career: She's won Olivier and Tony Awards for Private Lives and the Olivier and a Tony nomination for Les Liaisons Dangereuses ( original production). Among numerous roles , she's been in Top Girls, Ashes to Ashes and A Midsummer Night's Dream.
