at the movies

  Frank Langella

London's Daily Mail has reported that Frank Langella and Michael Sheen will be starring in the film version of Frost/Nixon, which has been a big theatrical hit on both sides of the pond; first in a London production at the Donmar Warehouse and now on Broadway, at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre.

The paper says that the studio bosses had wanted a film star to play the disgraced 37th President and director Ron Howard had approached Warren Beatty. But, Mr. Beatty reportedly turned off movie vps with his "oscillating behavior." Kevin Spacey, the paper reports, was so eager to play Nixon, that he sent an audition tape of himself playing Mr. N.
