  Ian McKellen as King Lear

The RSC's productions of King Lear and The Seagull will play a limited engagement in the West End in the fall. Specifically, the two plays will be at the New London, starting on November 12. Both plays will star Ian McKellen and be directed by Trevor Nunn.

At present, the shows are playing at Stratford upon Avon. They'll then go to Newcastle's Theatre Royal, beginning June 29. From there, it's on to Singapore, Australia, New Zealand and then the United States, where the Brooklyn Academy of Music is one of the stops.

As for the two plays, McKellen will play the title role in King Lear( duh,) and Sorin in The Seagull, sharing that role with William Gaunt. Other members of the company include Frances Barber, John Heffernan, Jonathan Hyde, Monica Dolan, Sylvester McCoy, and Zoe Boyle. The productions are designed by Christopher Oram; lighting by Neil Austin ; sound by Fergus O'Hare and music by Steve Edis.

Right now, the New London is playing host to Blue Man Group. That entertainment will be departing on June 24. No new booking has been announced for the theatre.
