A new summer production of JM Barrie's Peter Pan is to be staged in a tent in London's Kensington Gardens. The setting has been chosen in honor of Peter Pan in Kensington Gardens, the 1906 book that was published in the wake of the successful stage adaptation of Peter Pan. The latest version has been adapted by Tanya Ronda whose previous work includes an adaptation of Vernon God Little for the Young Vic and a translation of Blood Wedding for the Almeida. Helmed by site-specific director Ben Harrison the show will be designed by William Dudley and housed in a 1,100 capacity "state of the art theatre tent" situated in one of the park's meadows. Performances are scheduled to begin on May 26 and to run until August 30. Casting for the roles of Peter and his nemesis Captain Hook have not as yet been announced.
