The wait is over. Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen will play Vladimir and Estragon, respectively, in the Sean Mathias production of Waiting for Godot at the Theatre Royal Haymarket , April 30 thru June 28. Before the show hits the West End, it will tour from March 5 to April 25, making stops in Malvern, Milton Keynes, Brighton, Bath, Norwich, Edinburgh and Newcastle. Both actors have been extremely busy as of late. Stewart recently played the title role of Macbeth, in both London and New York. McKellen was Lear in the same venues.The two co-starred in the X-Men series. Mathias has directed Uncle Vanya, Suddenly Last Summer, Les Parents Terrible and Design for Living,, among others.
