at Menier Chocolate Factory

Casting has been set for the world premiere of Take Flight, the new musical by Richard Maltby,Jr., David Shire and John Weidman. The show will play the Menier Chocolate Factory, July 13-September 22, with an opening scheduled for July 25.

The show is all about pioneers of flight and the inspirational stories they have to tell. The cast includes Michael Jibson as Charles Lindbergh, Sally Ann Triplett as Amelia Earhart, Ian Bartholomew as her husband Charles Putnam and Sam Kenyon and Elliot Levey as the Wright Brothers.

Maltby(who does the lyrics) and Shire( who does the music) have worked together before. They collaborated on the musical Big and did the revues Closer than Ever and Starting Here, Starting Now. Weidman has written the book for Sondheim's Assassins, Bounce and Pacific Overtures.
